I love when not only I get to photograph spectacular couples, but when those spectacular couples happen to be my best friends. Hannah P (which I still call her, even to Kevin's dismay) I have known since the time she set foot in our coffee shop in Raleigh, N.C to work. She quickly became a close friend, followed by her brother Grant, then her sister Gracie and now her entire family.
Once you get to know the Pittman family and the three siblings known as the "Pitt crew" you quickly understand Hannah's quirkiness, passion and sense of responsibility, all tied in with some creative and fiery temper (rarely seen though). She is beautiful and caring and her love for others is greatly seen and depicted through her constant and patient love towards Kevin.
Kevin, comes from a completely different sphere of friends in my life and I knew him from our church group. Kevin is a strong leader, wise, patient and a great teacher. Even more he is hard core passionate about what he believes, a lover of NASA, great stories and fun times. So when these two people finally got together all of us in the friend circle couldn't be more ecstatic for them and slightly curious on what kind of personalities their kids might have.
On the day of the wedding, Hannah was calm and collected and her excitement was for what Kevin will think when he sees her. Quote her, "I hope he cries." Kevin on the other hand was a ball of nerves, and didn't sleep the night before, got coffee around 5 am and was ready to see Hannah.
When these two finally saw each other on their first look together, it was the sweetest time I have ever had the opportunity to photograph. I even now have a hard time putting the proper words to the moment. It was plain and simply beautiful, full of what you expect, love unhindered, unrestricted and love bound by grace for each other and their future together.
What was to come the rest of the day was celebration and the best get together ever. Filled with great coffee, Earl Great and Blackberry cakes, and even latte-art cookies made by Martha from Jubala Village Coffee.
